A&RMS Consultants


A&RMS is a fully independent, experienced Vertical Transportation Consultancy, established in the late 1990s by John Frith, a former Government Lift Inspector & WH&S Adviser. 


John's idea was to put together a team of "Experienced, Technical Lift People" to provide clarity and understanding about the lift and escalator industry to our clients. A philosophy which still stands true today.


We offer a range of bespoke consultancy services and impartial, expert advice.


Our services include:  Equipment Auditing / Reporting, New Installations, Modernisation or Full Replacement, Technical Due Diligence Reporting, and Maintenance Agreement Tendering & Management.


From initial site survey & condition reports, through to complete lifecycle management, our services are specifically tailored to deliver the best quality for the best value.


We offer our experience and knowledge to assist clients in developing specific strategies to eliminate problems and reduce costs, simply and with minimal intrusion.

Each member of our team brings a varied set of skills and expertise to our organisation. 

 

David Fitzsimmons

Director & Senior Consultant with over 40 Years lift industry experience in Technical, Project Management and Senior Management roles.


Hazard and Risk Management


Dave has remained in the Lift Industry since completing a Lift Engineering Apprenticeship in 1985.


From his technical background, Dave has experienced a diverse range of roles across all facets of the industry with major Lift Companies.


From Technical Support Engineer for the North of England & Wales, to Technical / Service Operations Manager in Sydney, and Managing the Service Business in Queensland, Dave’s experience covers Installation, Modernisation and Service.


With over 13 years consulting experience, Dave has provided invaluable advice and consulting services to many clients across Australia, New Zealand & PNG.


 

Gary Watts

Senior Consultant with 50 Years lift industry experience in Technical, Project Management and Senior Management roles.


Management and Safety Development 


Following the completion of his apprenticeship as a Lift Electrician, Gary has remained in the Lift Industry. 


Gary’s strong technical skills have allowed him to fulfil Senior Managerial roles in managing the Installation, Modernisation and Service departments of major Lift Companies. 


More recently, Gary’s position involved managing training and technical product support to the Service, Modernisation and New Equipment businesses.


Gary’s roles also included providing technical support and guidance on the WHS Act & Regulations, codes and standards.


Since 2013, Gary has utilised his extensive industry skills and knowledge to provide professional consultancy services that exceed the client’s expectations and requirements.

Sharon Ailey

 With 17 years industry experience, Sharon is a highly experienced Client Account Manager.


Sharon coordinates with our existing team to assist clients in managing their lifts and escalators.

This is achieved by balancing statutory requirements with engineering needs and commercial considerations.


Working closely alongside the  lift companies, Sharon will assist our clients in achieving suitable terms, conditions and pricing for ongoing comprehensive maintenance and upgrade works. 


The process ensures contract documents are accurately executed and satisfied, saving the client time, money and stress.


Sharon is a confident, organised, and flexible team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and has a proven track record in delivering outstanding solutions for all clients .

Barrie Erickson

 A highly motivated consultant with over 18 years lift industry experience, most recently specialising in installation, modernisation, and project management.


Since completing a Lift Technician Apprenticeship, Barrie has undertaken several roles within the lift industry.


Roles include tuning and commissioning of lifts & escalators,  Project Management of various projects from single lift to major multi lift/escalator projects.


Barrie's larger projects include  Escalator In-Truss Modernisation and Lift Destination Control Systems.


Barrie is highly regarded in the industry for his industry technical knowledge, great communication skills, and commitment to the project.
